I actually stopped using the med after about a month as bubs got a lot better quite quickly. Goodluck.

I also had no milk at all for my first baby and used this, I was able to feed him till 10 months, then because I had done that, my body had laid down receptors, and was able to feed #2 with no help at all for almost 2 years!
Good luck!

I spent 3 days with her lying skin to skin in bed, demand feeding her and pumping in between feeds for stimuation. I got all my milk back and continued to b/f her till she was 7 months.

Its worth a go, but sorry I can't help with what meds help increase milk production as I just did the above and it did the trick!

Good luck!

ETA: Sorry just to clarify, I gave up b/f for about 3-4 weeks before relactating her at 4 months.

Edited by peachy

Don't feel bad though. My second bub had silent reflux and she was exclusively bf

Check out kellymom.com It is a great site and should hopefully provide an answer for you.

For now you will have to supplement feed with formula but let baby suck as much as she wants as that will stimulate it a bit better.

Some moms take a bit longer to increase their milk and it might even take up to a week to even make a little bit.

Fenugreek I heard is a great thing to use while trying to increase milk. Also there is harder drugs you can use to increase milk supply and mums that adopt and never breastfed before uses this. Go see your GP for some more information and how to go about this.

But the most important thing is no matter the outcome dont feel quilty. Seriously we put so much on ourselves as mum i.e. started solids too late, or too early, bottlefed, breastfed too long, used a dummy, cio method with my child, co-slept ect.

In the end of the day when your child is all grown up they are not going to have to fill it out on a job application form whether they were breasted and for how long or why she was bottle fed.

I still have a very tiny amount of milk still coming through if I squeeze my breast and nipple areas.

Madelyn is 5 weeks old now and I have heard there is meds that can stimulate at increase milk flow. Is it too late? Can these meds start this late???

Bubs is having major gut issues with reflux, awful pains when passing gas or pooing. (been to 4 docs and 3 pediatricians).

I still get the whole guilt thing thinking BFing might have prevented this so I was curious to know if it was still a possibility. Anyone heard of being able to start this late?
