Even sometimes then some people can be fine with lots of fresh blood.

Midwife and doctor havent been worried at all! Hope this helps - some women just have to go through it and its normal for them. 25% of pregnant women spot, and of that 85% are fine.

I am 7 weeks. No cramps with the spotting, and it seems to have stopped but I am a bit worried.

I rang my midwife who told me that it is common, and that if I have more bleeding and cramps to call her back. This hasn't happened.

Is spotting common?

I had bleeding at 4 weeks then again and 6 and 7 weeks. It was terrible and because of a previous MC I was really worried it was happening again.

If you are concerned then I'd go back into the hospital just to be sure and hope they will scan you. But if the bleeding has stopped and if you feel you can hold off until Monday then I'd just wait. Go with your gut feeling.

    Author: anon
Subject: 25382
Posted: 22 March 2009 at 10:34am

I had (2nd time this week) some spotting last night. It has stopped but I am still getting cramps - although it's confusing because I'm also constipated (thanks oestrogen!)

Last time I went into the hospital and they examined me and did bloods then sent me home and I came back in the morning for a scan - everything was fine.

This time I haven't gone into hospital (even though Healthline recommended I do) because they examined me 5 days ago and nothing has really changed since then - I am sure I don't have an infection etc. All I want is a scan to see if baby is still there and happy and well.... but it's Sunday and I'd have to go through A&E and without bleeding (since it has stopped) I know they only do urgent scans today. They may not scan me - the Charge Nurse at North Shore Hospital told me she couldn't guarantee it.

I was going to wait to see my GP tomorrow and then get a referral for a scan from him....

What do you guys suggest?

I sooo wish I had a midwife to ask these questions! I am getting so frustrated at their not getting back to me about making a first appointment.
