If anything I think the only difference was it was a second labour so I was more in the know. Mind you I had epidurals for both when I got to about 4-5cm.

You'll be fine. 45 min isnt far. I lived 3 hours from hospital....and that gave me A LOT OF STRESS!!!! If it all happens too fast, have comfort in the fact that most fast labours are complication free.

I was induced with #1 and what you are describing is what I am stressing about with #2! Induction makes it easy to a degree as you walk in happy e.g not panicing about when to go to hosp, parking the car, your not in pain.

Am no help but just wanted to say that I am hearing you on it

Try not to worry about it. I went into transition something terrible with #2 but not with #3 and #4 (#1 was a c/s), so every labour/birth really is different.

    Author: Bel
Subject: 25499
Posted: 26 March 2009 at 8:39pm

Ok, so I am a week overdue, having loads of niggles and terrified!!

I was induced with DS at 9 days over with highish BP. All went reasonably well, I had some stitches and 2hrs of pushing, but he came out and was fine.

Last night I had lots of pains and thought that I was in labour. Nothing came of it - except that now I am scared of going into labour! I am scared of feeling like I am not in control, being induced meant that something else was in control and they could adjust contractions etc by changing drip - what about a natural labour?? I have to just go with the flow and don't know what is going to happen next! We live 45 minutes from the hospital and I am scared of leaving too late (or labour happening really quickly!)

Don't know what I want from you guys, I guess just some reassurance that I will be OK... and this feeling is normal!!?
