This has come to us at work, i work for a telecommunications company, so it is very real.
Make sure your computers are all up to date, including windows updates and all virus updates so that you wont be effected.

VIRUS ALERT: IMPORTANT MESSAGE, PLEASE READ

It could be the biggest April Fool's joke ever played on the internet, or it could be one of the worst days ever for computers connected to the network. Security experts can't work out whether the Conficker virus – which has already infected more than 10 million Windows PCs worldwide – may wreak havoc tomorrow (Wednesday). Experts advise that from midnight tonight the Conficker program will start scanning thousands of websites for a new set of instructions telling it what to do next. Infected machines will therefore become a part of one of the biggest "botnets" (network of "robot" computers) in internet history.

The Conficker worm has been aggressively spreading across the Internet since September 2008. A patch for this exploit was released in October 2008.
