Doc did a scan and it turns out there is still something in my uterus so having a blood test tomorrow morning, which will determine if it's a bit of placenta (apparently the hcg level will be slightly elevated if it's placenta) and if it is I will be having a D&C tomorrow afternoon. But if the blood test is normal, I'll have another scan in a week to see if it's still there. So guess I'll find out what's happening tomorrow.

Sometimes the bleeding can come and go, particularly if you have been active. But by 6 weeks I don't think I have ever still had bright red bleeding. My mw was telling me today that if I ever had clots I should call her right away - so I wonder if you still have some membranes in there or something?

It shouldn't be getting heavier at all.
Maybe it is AF back but I don't think you should be passing clots etc, unless you have always had very heavy AFs?
Definately tell your OB just to make sure it's all ok.

When I had her, the MW said I'd bleed for 4-6 weeks, but that it would go from red, to pink, to brown then nothing. Well it did all that (but only went to "nothing" for about a day - 2 weeks ago). Since then it's steadily become redder and heavier for the last few days there have been blood clots when I go to the loo, and today it's so heavy I have to change my pad everytime I go to the loo.

Did anyone else have something like this? Luckily I have my 6 week postpartum checkup with the obstetrician this arvo, but just wanted some opinions before I go as to what it sounds like is happening. Hope it's not AF back already!! (I'm breastfeeding so will feel SO ripped off if I do have AF back already, lol)

Thanks in advance
