Oh my goodness, I'm only up to page 6 and I feel as though I've died and gone to domestic goddess heaven!

Any good ideas for really doing a thorough clean of a (what I'm guessing is cheapy nylon) rug?  To get all the crap out of mine I have to get down on hands and knees with the vaccuum cleaner and scrub away - it works but takes forever.

I've made this but instead of using borax (couldn't find any) 2 cups of baking soda. It seems to be working quite well and I've only done a few loads.
Is it ok to use on MCN's witht the soap content?
Are there any other variations people have?
