It took me about 2months after the last one wore off to get AF, then about 6months after that to get a regular cycle. Im still not preg and have been TTC for 15months now after last depo shot wore off.....I did get preg last month but it wasnt sticky so i know now i can get preg........so if your thinking about in a year, then i would say get off it NOW, so you dont suffer the same heart ache of not having any control over your fertility returning after depo.

Good luck with what you decide

It's relatively painless to have fitted (completely painless once fitted) and then you are good to go as soon as it is removed. There are two types, one is a hormone one but family planning or your gp would be able to talk over the options for you.

Edited by two_boys

I was on yasmin (combined pill) which was better for me than other pill's (less symptoms etc), otherwise try the mini-pill.

Hope that helps, but if in doubt maybe talk to your GP.
