I had that when i was pregnant last time too. It was bloody sore. I never did anything about it though. So i have no idea what was causing it. Might pay to get it checked out.

Hope you're OK Kelly - did you call Healthline to ask them for advice?

It could possibly be inflamed cartilidge around your ribcage? I've had this on and off for about 10 years now, and I *think* it was worse in the later stages of pregnancy (but can't be certain, nappy brain!). The first time it happened was when I rolled over in bed and it felt like someone stabbed a knife into my heart - thought I was having a heart attack! I don't get shortness of breath with it though, but it hurts like heck at the time and so I just do shallow breathing for a few minutes til it eases off. For me, it happens when I'm run down and the pain seems to occur when I twist or stretch too quickly. During diagnosis the doctor gently prodded my ribcage - also on my back where the ribcage cartilidge meets the spine and to my surprise it did hurt there too, weird!

Okay, I'd be going straight to the doctor, especially if I had shortness of breath accompanied by severe chest pain. If it's unusual for you, listen to your body. It may be to do with your upset tummy, but shortness of breath is what I'd be worried about.

yeah shortness of breath too.
The pain isn't the same as the sore breasts I get when im first pregnant, this is more of a pain right in the middle, on the bone almost .

I never got this with C , and this is the first time i've had it with this one, im wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that ive had a tummy bug the last day or so and have tried to force my body to get up and about too quickly

Yip i get it but dont recall ever asking about it because i have had it with each pregnancy and then never again when not pregnant so put it down to that.

tonight Ive had really really sharp shooting pains in my chest, like someones taken a knife to me ....is this a pregnancy thing ?
Cos its not fun !

and its not like im early on either , anyone know what might be causing it ?
