Sorry I've been seriously busy this week!
I kept remembering at the wrong time to come back and report here

We went to Osterio Del Toro and yum!
Starters were scrummy. We got the goat for main course which was for 2 people. It was yum but not substantial enough for both our appetites

We didn't book which meant we had to sit at the bar for 40 minutes waiting for a seat. But that was ok as we weren't in any rush and were just enjoying our night off Looked like they did yummy cocktails too but neither of us were drinking.

Matterhorn was voted best restaurant in NZ by Cuisine. Devine food.

Chow is also one of my personal favourites. Matterhorne is great and they don't take bookings so you have as much chance of a table as the next bloke! Same with Boulcott St Bistro.

If you want romantic, i don't think you can get past the White House on O Parade (if the budget holds. Friends recently went to Hippopotamus in the Museum Hotal and thought it was amazing. There's also manon in Newtown which always rates well. There is also one on Johnston Street, opposite the Black Harp but I can't remember the name - its Divine.
The Chameleon in the Hotel Intercontinental (pricey but also very good)

Im really keen on trying the new place on Tory St just along from Lone Star. I think its Osterio Del Toro or something like that. It had a FABULOUS review a couple of weeks ago. Full marks on everything (service, menu range etc etc).
