Author: mountaingoat
Subject: 26258
Posted: 01 May 2009 at 3:58pm

There is a good Alison & Simon Holst babies and toddlers cookbook! Just google.

There are others too ... I've looked at a couple ... check your local library! You don't have to buy books when you can borrow them for free.

I'd keep introducing new foods and new textures (as long as he's not too young for them). Give him a variety so he doesn't get bored with the same old stuff. I try not to give the same thing 2 days in a row. In a couple of weeks (7 months) you can start mixing in a bit of cottage cheese with the vege or a bit of plain yoghurt with the fruit etc. You can also mix in grated cheese with vege.

I haven't done pasta yet. I'm keeping my bubs off wheat until about 8 or 9 months, just 'cos there is a family history of gluten intolerance on my hubby's side. By that stage she'll just be able to bite off chunks of the pasta - she already has 2 teeth.

Finley is pretty good (most the time) he will eat what he is given, so he has fruit for breakfast then veg for lunch and a mix of veg and chicken at the mo (its whats in the freezer) for dinner.

The veg combos tend to be carrot, cauli, peas, sweet pot, potato, broccoli and swede.

I haven't really tried him on anything new for a while, should I still be introducing new foods every few days.

Is there a good book I can get about food and recipes?
