loulee - WFF is calculated based on what you earn over the whole financial year, rather than per week. So you have to figure it out for the whole year. Aside from what you get from the govt research throughly what your work offers as well. I never knew what my work offered but just found out they are pretty good with what they offer.
I hate the working for families site toooo complicated.

You definitely won't qualify for the accomodation supplement I would say as DP earns 44000 a year and I earn when working a full week $500 after tax. Even when earning 180 a week I still earnt too much. With DP's salary alone we only qualify for $42 a week for accomodation supplement. SUCKY! I don't qualify for sickness benefit either cos of him.

As for working for families I would just apply and see what they say, better just to do then not and miss out, and it might be better just to get the bulk payment at the end of the year rather then getting a payment everyweek based on rough income etc as you may end up owing if one or both of you are on irregular incomes eg shift work that changes each week.

The ird WFF you have to be working a minimum of 30 hours a week between the two of you. Which usually DH will do this.

You get 60/w for an inwork payment plus an amount based on how many kids you have & how much your income is. There is a calculator on the IRD website.

You will probably be over the accm suppliment.

I can't find another thread but perhaps I'm not searching under the right word.

I'm trying to figure out what DH and I are entitled to once bubs gets here. I know about PPL - but all the other things (working for familes, etc) are doing my head in. This is our first and only bubba.

I'm so confused - any help would be appreciated.

(Gross I currently earn 730.00 per week, about 560.00 take home and DH earns between 800-1000 gross per week, about 680-820 take home).
