yeah, the ones that make you drowsy are ok, polaramine or phenergan. I was actually advised to use phenergan during pregnancy not just for hayfever, but to sleep! I had horrible hayfever last pregnancy and went to my GP who prescribed Polarmine. They are fine, they same class as Panadol apparently. They worked a treat.

Well in case anyone else is interested to know:

Some of the older hay fever tablets are fine to take as long as they are Category A - the ones the chemist recommended me to use was polaramine which is one of the older ones and has shown no affect on babies during pregnancy even early on.

I am still going to check with Dr before using coz I am a parnoid android haha! I get really bad hayfever and it gets even worse when i'm pregnant. The only thing i would use is a saline spray or homeopathic remedies. I don't like to take anything when I'm pregnant. Go to a chemist and ask what is safe. Or ask your MW if you've got one. There is a Hayfever Gel from Botanica, which is completely safe to take during pregnancy. It's $20 for a tiny tube, but it actually lasts quite a few weeks, and more importantly it helps!

The last time I saw my midwife I complained about my hayfever as its been AWFUL this pregnancy. She said that she had spoken to a few OB's and they have all told her that their is no reason why a pregnant women cant have hayfever tabs there is no proof that they can cause anything to go wrong, so she gave me scrpit for some. I am taking Razene, and its such a relief.

Mine has gone nuts since getting pregnant. I tried one of those saline sprays and it was useless! I asked the OB about what I could do (couldn't sleep) and he said beconase was ok to use as so little of it ends up in your system its no risk to bubs.

Yeah i have just had to deal with my hayfever and am super glad that im pregnant during the non hayfever season and should be finished before it starts again!

I agree with trying the saline rinses tho, i ahve seen some good feedback on them.

Did anybody else find they got hay fever when pregnant and if so does anyone have any ingenious ways to help it not be so bad. I don't think I can take antihistamine, but have to admit I havne't been to chemist yet.
I am using vicks to keep things clear since if I don't I find I wake in the night with a really sore throat and the last thing I want is to get a cold and then this will lead to ashma (tho I think I can take inhaler...not sure!).
