I agree that you should try feeding off one breast for as long as possible before trying the other, then she'll get more of the fattier hind milk.  ]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=21247">Siananigan</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 26568<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 18 May 2009 at 6:06pm<br /><br />So if your baby is gaining slowly you may want to consider block feeding which is only allowing one breast per meal and feeding from the same breast a few times in a row.<br /><br />A baby who gets lots of foremilk and no hindmilk may be windy because the foremilk is very sweet and high in lactose which can cause a lactose overload and make their tummies sore.<br /><br />I had the same issue when my wee chopper was little and my LC cleared it right up. She is awesome.<br /><br />Your boobs are like a bottle of milk, overnight the milk separates and the fatty milk rises to the top and the thin milk is what baby gets first which is perfect as it quenches their thirst but if your baby doesn't empty the whole breast then they may have green poos in the morning. ]]>

Your breasts are very full in the morning which means baby can get mostly the thin watery milk which = green poos. It doesn't harm your baby but if you are only getting green poos it means they can be missing out on the nice fatty hindmilk which gives them the growth they need. ]]>

It's normal for breastfed babies to have green poos on occasion, it's generally caused by wind, or by something you've eaten going thru her a bit too quickly via the breastmilk. Nothing to worry about unless she seems more upset or grumpy than usual.]]>
