Thanks Jo, those are some good idea's, I will try DH getting in the bath with Caden and me being there, and like you said gradually not being there lol
Im going to buy him some new bath toys tomorrow when I go out, so DH can give those to him.

Babies and toddlers go through stages where they are more attached to their main caregiver.  It's heart breaking for the other caregiver and exhausting and frustrating for the main caregiver (I have been through the stages from both sides).

IMO there are two ways you could approach it.

Soft approach would be for DH to get in the bath with Caden but you actually bath him.  First day you'd be there for the whole bath, next day you'd leave for a few minutes then come back and each night thereafter you'd leave for a bit longer until DH is bathing Caden by himself.

Hard approach is to get yourself and DH some earplugs for bathtime and DH stay in the bath with him and bath him for a full bath time without you 'rescuing' Caden.

Either way I think DH should actually get in the bath with him because kids love that.  It probably wouldn't hurt for DH to bring him a new bath toy or some bubbles or something and make a big fuss about bath time being Daddy/Caden time.

We used to have this problem too Sheena. We ended up putting Sam in the bath with Daddy and now she loves it!   It still took a couple of baths for her to get completely happy with it, but I just stayed beside the bath to make sure she was ok.
Now she gets so excited on Daddy bath nights. I thought about that, will get him to try that next time, maybe he will think its neat having daddy in the bath as well. Yep he lets me bath him and has a great time, he loves the water, just not when DH does it Its the same with the shower, he wont let DH shower him either.
I have tried my best to just leave them to it, but Caden screams and gets so hysterical and then DH gets angry and frustrated with him(my DH has ear problems so Cadens crying hurts them quite badly).

I just dont know what to do...Im hoping he will grow out of it, or maybe we should just try it every night for a while and see how he goes...but I dont know if I can handle that every night at the moment, Im so tired

Can he shower him? Or maybe fill up a tub with water and play in that? Is he OK with you bathing him?? We've had issues with Daniel and the bath and ended up with DH taking him swimming today - thought we'd try him just having fun in water and hopefully it'll make it easier. Don't know if there are any pools in Puke? My nearly one year old WILL NOT let DH bath him He screams and crys and gets himself so worked up, and after that even I cant settle him so bath time ends up being over for the night in 2 mins
It really gets DH down because he doesnt understand why Caden wont let him bath him, Im stumped as well. As soon as DH putshim in there bath and starts to wash him Caden howels, he has tried everything to make bath time fun for Caden, but he wont have a bar of it.

Does anyone else have this problem? Where there kids/babies wont let dad bath them?? Caden is a real mummys boy at the moment too, and he just wants me for just about everything, DH cant even really feed him cos Caden gets angry Its hard on DH and Its hard on me cos it means I just dont get ANY time to myself Im exausted and frustrated and I need some me time and if DH could bath Caden at least that would be...half an to myself.
