I've just been up to visit Aimee and wee Greer, and Greer is amassing quite an impressive string of bravery beads which show what a trooper she is. Aimee says she's doing better than they expected following the surgery, but they're waiting on the results of yesterdays MRI which they won't get now till Monday and that will determine whether she can transfer out of HDU to a normal ward. Hey sorry I havent updated sooner, I have been having trouble getting onto the OB website...

So far all going well. We were out of PICU in a day and have been in neurosurgical HDU since Wednesday. She is breathing for herself and this is getting better and stronger every day - some of the muscles are weakened, but she is compensating for it. Her cough is getting stronger which is really important as she has a bit of phlegm. She is moving both her arms and one leg still, the other has moved a little but not much. She has been up in a buggy this morning and enjoyed looking around!

She is in MRI at the moment to check how much of the tumour, if any, is left. Should have more of an idea of a treatment plan after this. I think it will be more surgery if there is a bit left, possibly chemo, but definitely lots of rehab to get her moving again.

So we going to be here for a while! Aimee, I've never spoken to you before but know that my thoughts are with you and your family today. Wee Greer (my favourite girls name by the way) sounds like a right little fighter and hopefully she has her breathing tube removed today.

Thank you so much everyone, it doesnt seem like much, but all your thoughts and prayers really do help us through this.

Have just come back to have a sleep and wanted to let you know she is doing really well. The surgeon thinks they got all of the tumour but needs another MRI in the next few days to check. They are weaning her off the ventilator and she is doing it all herself now, though they are leaving the breathing tube in overnight probably just to be sure. She is moving her arms and waved to her Dad tonight, and she is opening her eyes looking for us. The main concern is that the nerves to her breathing muscles haven't been weakened - her diaphragm is definitely working well which is fantastic, its just the rest of them they arent sure of yet. So she isn't out of the woods yet, but we are cautiously optimistic. She appears to have some sensation in her legs, but that is a minor compared to the breathing.

Today has been a very long one, on top of the last few weeks, and we are no way near the end, but we are all feeling ok at the moment. ** Update from Aimee**

Hi guys, Aimee asked me to update on here for everyone thinking of Greer...

Her op is done now - the surgeon is happy that he got all of the tumor that he could see under the microscope.  Greer is in ICU now, and they won't know how it went until they take out her breathing tube in the next day or so, but it looks good for now.  For now the tube is there doing the breathing for Greer to keep her still, once it's out, they'll see if her arms, legs, and most importantly her breathing have been effected by the delicate nature of the surgery.
