In fact, it made the situation WORSE for us; the only thing we found that did anything substantial was avocado, Alex will eat these like they are going out of fashion. LOL Nothing wrong with DS2 either, he just doesn't stack on heaps of weight all the time, he only broke 10kg last month at 19 months. It took me 8 months of "battling" with my Plunket nurse for her to finally agree with me when I said he was just growing how he was genetically programmed to instead of how some chart said he should.

Contrary to what Plunket seems to think milk, be that bm or formula, has more fat and calories ounce for ounce than most solid food you can be giving her. This might make for interesting reading................

Earlier on he loved avocado mashed with a little banana.
I also found he has lost a bit of weight since he started crawling.
Jaye had his food quite smooth and I gradually introduced lumps. Now I roughly mash all his vegies and he is into everything!

She likely to gag a lot to start with, the trick is to not panic and give her a chance to gag. It's a bit freaky until you get used to it!

I love it - the book is broken down into ages and has heaps of yummy recipies, including quick and easy snacks, things that are good to freeze, etc and even gives you an idea of how to set up a menu for bubs that covers all the nutritional bases... plus it was only $27

If you do a search you will come up with past threads that have lots of ideas about finger foods. Then they can pick and choose what they want and get used to lumps etc

And my girl LOVES bread. Even if she's eaten a full lunch, she'll chow down a slice of bread after it. Bits of cheese, slices of avacado, mandarins, banana, are all great to snack on too.
