Remember each time she eats, sleeps plays she will need to be tolieted. So as soon as she finishes eating in her spot take her quick smart to where you want her to pee/poo. LOL - memories!! We got a baby (puppy) gate to keep Basil in the kitchen and he just wiggled thought the bars so we took it down!! Then about 2 weeks later we put it up again and he squeezed though to half way and then pulled it out and appeared with it around his fat tummy ! (don't worry it was not screwed into the wall just pressure mounted.)

I second the advice about cayenne pepper - it works a treat.

I've fostered a few pups through our volunteer work.

The best thing I ever learnt was wiping cayenne pepper mixed with vaseline onto electrical cords that you can't move. They only try it once lol and they never touch a cord or wire again. We foster German Shepherds so teeth is something I've had a lot of practice with

A paint brush is best but watch the walls as the pigment from the pepper can stain wall paper. It cleans off fairly easy when they've learnt. Baylee was a name that jake agreed to, can be a girls name, and is not Jake....we went through a huge list where he would say "nah, thats dumb", so Baylee she is and will stay .

Are you getting her from a breeder?
When we got our dog, the breeder sent her to us with a little red blanket that she's rubbed all over the mother, so our pup would feel some comfort in those first few nights, having her Mummy's scent around.

When we bought our new puppy home we gave him an old soft toy which he loved and snuggled up to at night, and I used a clock for the ticking noise as well. They do cry/whine a bit at night at first but they soon get use to their new surroundings. Our dog sleeps in the laundry, I am a bit tough and he has always slept there no matter what (although he could be outside if DH had his way) they are pretty smart and if you give in they expect you to do it again & again.

Oh and if she has her own bed, make it that when she is in her bed thats her safe place e.g. no kids can touchplay with her when she is in her bed etc. as they then can go there when they want time out and feel safe.

Our dog's called Bailey, very similar. He's a boy though.

Umm, Try your best to put cords where she can't reach them, and put newspaper down in an area inside somewhere (where she can be locked for the night). Apparently the ticking clock works to settle them. And food bowls for the puppy. And food (we forgot that bit when getting a kitten).

My advice, just go with the flow! As long as the dog has all the necessities you will be fine. You will probably find that things change as you go along. For example, we had decided that our puppy was going to sleep in the laundry, had that all set up, then the second night she moved into our room because she whined all night. She has been there ever since!

ETA: Bailey or Baylee is one of those really common dog names that you hear all the time in the dog park (just to warn you!)
And obviously make sure that your yard is fully fenced, they can be little houdinis
