It's made by Tomy and is star-shaped. It plays 3 lullabies for either 5 or 10 mins and projects cute images of teddy bears and moons onto the ceiling. It cost about $30 and is portable. It has worked a treat for us (only using it for night time sleeps at the moment).

I find the taking her away & quietning down with a story good if been aroung lots of people ie if we have visitors, kinda a distaction from that. It kinda signals naptime. Sounds like it takes a wee while but is only 5 minutes and I find it makes me remember to read to her!

    Author: JessDub
Subject: 26768
Posted: 26 May 2009 at 4:57pm

I've recently started a routine of taking DS and saying good night to some things around the house and in his bedroom, so by the time he gets to the cot, he knows it's nap time. Only takes a couple of minutes and he's happy enough.

E.G. We say goodnight to a photo of his dad "good night dad, we're going for a nap" then move to the mirror "good night mum, i'm going for a nap", then to his room and say good night to some of the wall decals and his toys, then to the fence and flax bush (good night mr flax!) outside while we're closing the blinds.

It's absolutely mental but does work for us. I'd die if the neighbours caught me at it!!

Oh and DS's tired signs are less obvious too. I let him up 2.5/3 hours per time generally unless he's really grizzly around 2 hour mark.

Edited by JessDub
