I applied for WFF about 2 weeks ago (babe was 7 weeks).. We didn't however get Parental Tax Credit automatically. I rang a week after WFF started to enquire about it and we were entitled to the full amount. ($1200 over 8 weeks) so we will start getting it this week YAY!

I got parental tax credit. It started automatically when I got our WFF paperwork in. I filled out all the WFF paperwork the week before Mika was born, just left her dob open. Once she was born I only had to fill her birth date in and posted it off.
They give you an 8 week grace period to get an IRD nr., and that is plenty of time.
The WFF application contains a form to request an IRD nr. as well.

I can't help you with the parental tax credit, as I had paid maternity leave. Is there anyone here that has got this?

I have had a look on IRD website and it tells you about $150 x 8payments, but I can't see anything in regards to applying and filling out forms etc?
