Alia started at 6 months as well, we did a couple of terms of swimming & then a couple off, once they have hair to dry it's a bit harder with swimming in winter.

We started Maddi around 8 months and ended up only doing it over Summer.

She loved it and I felt bad stopping it but hopefully we will get her back into it next summer (our pools were getting a little chilli)

I think its great for building up water confidence, and at the moment we are trying to regularly take her swimming ourselves so she doesn't loose it.

Caitlyn started around 4 months I THINK (its been a while lol)

but as far as being worth it goes , I think so , or at least you taking them swimming with you and getting them used to the water, Caitlyn has been able to dive down 8 feet since she was 5, she can swim unaided from both ends of any pool since she was 5 and has been able to do underwater somersaults since she was 4 ...shes my little mermaid

We started when Finley was 6 months and he loves it, so do I, its fun. i hope we can continue when I go back to work.

The instructor said before 6 months they don't really progress much, they get stuck at the same stage.

I used to be a swimming teacher and fully encourage lessons for water safety from 6 months.

What age is ok to start? Generally most places start at 6 months but there is the odd place that will take babies earlier.

Are they any good? Or worth the money? IMO yes! Absolutely worth it. Water Safety is so important, not just at a pool or the beach but at home as well.

Is it ok to go during winter with a baby?? Yes, the pools and changing rooms should be heated. They run it where my DF works and we will definately be doing it when this baby gets to 6 months. I think swimming lessons are hugely important for young ones.

Issy started swimming lessons at 12 weeks (The earliest they will take them at Hilton Brown in Auckland).

We started at 6 months with Lauren. The lessons are really starting to pay off now as she is very confident, doggy paddles and kicks and blows bubbles. She is also not afraid to jump off the side of the pool into the water and go right under before I catch her.

Most definately worth the money IMO! We have no intention of stopping for a good few years yet!

What age is ok to start? All classes that I've heard of start from 6+ months, Daniel started his right on 6 months

Are they any good? Or worth the money? We find them brilliant, Daniel is very water confident and knows about how to be safe around pools. He looooves going every week and gets very excited when I tell him we are going to swimming lessons. We are onto our 6th term and will continue with it

I took Sirius to the pools when he was 3 months.
