    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=20464">JoJames</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 26925<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 12 June 2009 at 2:01pm<br /><br />If you get there early enought you should be able to get a bassinet, I just figured tht I would kick up a fuss if I didn't get it.<br />We flew a couple of weeks ago with our 6mo and the long haul flight was grea.<br />You can take a stroller to the gate, and sometimes they will let you even put it in the overhead lockers.  <br />In saying that, I found a sling really useful in getting through security and getting to the gate on time.<br />I left a bib on James just so if we had an accident I only had to change the bib.<br />It is quite light in the cabin(especially if the person behind you has their light on) so you will want to tie something over the bassinet, we just used an airplane blanket.<br /><a href="http://tvnz.co.nz/good-morning/baby-whisperer-l&#111;ng-distance-travel-2-june-2762422" target="_blank">Baby whisperer</a><br />She had some good advice the other day on good morning.<br />Good luck, you will be fine, also if she cries the airplane is so loud anyway, only the nearest people will be able to hear her.]]>

When booking your tickets make sure your travel agent states that you require these seats and ask the airline to make a "do not move!" note on your seat booking. I had a cousin who flew from Canada with her then 5yr and 9mth old and found she had been reshuffled and no longer had the bassinet seat.]]>

Like Hannibal said, sucking going up and coming down works wonders for the ears. <br />When we came to Aussie (only an 8 hour flight), we took a big soft blanket to snuggle Jody in when she got a bit titchy and she went to sleep happily. She was 4.5months.]]>
