you are a braver woman than I. tom still has his and is VERY attached to it. He "normally" only has it for bed time....but it refusing to cough it up now   When he is ready he will come to me and give it to me to put safe. I wanted to be rid of it by his 2nd birthday but cant see that happening.

There are worse things to worry about. Its just a shame James wont take one as Tom is now going through a phase of anything that James touches he dosesnt want....eg the highchair "Jamesy's highchair", bibs! oh forgot to add we also made dummy for bed only, so that was where it stayed & if he wanted it he had to go to bed & have it.

We has big problems with the dummy. Frist time we went without dummy we went out & a little boy walked past us with the same dummy in his mouth so my DS1 took it out of his & went to pop it in his own mouth, lucky the other parents could se the funny side in it.

We tried Santa, & put up with the crying till he got chicken pox new years eve & gave it back.

Our last try was we got him to put it on the door step for the baby bunnies at easter, & in return they would give him a present, it worked. Every time he saw bunnies he asked it that was the one that got his dummy.

I have learnt over the years & 3 kids later not to get hung up on dummy's, bottle's & toilet training.

We are doing that now, but she spends all day asking for it. Her dad dave in all the time, i would handle it most of the time but the whining for it does my head in so i must admit sometimes i cave.

I need more distraction ideas.

No if there are big changes I wouldn't take it away from her, have you tried saying its only for sleeps etc?? Shes 22 Months.. We put it in the letterbox but she cried and cried. I dont think she is ready yet. Might wait a month and tey again.

Probably better to leave it with her while her home life is changing.
