As SimSam said it is best to get onto getting a mw ASAP. My mw is based in Green Bay and is absolutely brilliant but possibly a bit too far away for you. PM me though if you want her details.

Another thing to think about is where you might want to give birth. Based on where you live I assume it will be Akl Hosp or Birthcare. Not all mws have arrangements with Akl Hosp or Birthcare to allow them to deliver there.

HI Layla - my advice would be to get onto this ASAP - its a bit tricky to get in with your preference, so you might need to ring around.

I can strongly recommend the Midwives Collective - they are based in Balmoral, and are a really neat group of women. You will get a specific LMC - but there are great back ups. There number is 815 8108. I used Stephanie Vague.

I can also recommend Lee Moselen - she is based in Epsom, and although I didnt use her (I know her through family - so it didnt "feel" right to use her). I have heard FANTASTIC things about her as a midwife.

Hi there, I am currently 9 weeks pregnant and am looking at options for my LMC. I am a first time mum and to be honest find it all a bit daunting! Does anyone have any names/contact details for highly recommended midwives (nice, gentle, kind!) in the Auckland area? I am based in Ponsonby, not sure if this matters? I look forward to any replies
