(although doing those has other benefits, so are worth keeping up with)

I also have a friend who is a PT and an aerobics instructor- she still put on 20kg+, and I know others who ate crap and stayed on the couch and gained less than that.

Good luck with your pregnancy- are you going to have a dating scan? We did at 9 weeks and there was a really strong heartbeat on there, so the sonographer said we were OK to tell people as there was a much reduced chance of a mc because the heartbeat was so obvious and strong.

Its good to know there is no 'normal'. I was told by friends at work today (the ones who know) that it's really obvious now I'm pregnant. I think being a small frame does have an effect on how quickly you pop out. I think it's more to do with your muscles and things moving up and out of the way to make room for the growing baby and uterus, and beause we little lassies are so little, it has nowhere else to go but out LOL

Try not to listen to what people say to you, they can be so rude. I had some ask me if i was sure there werent two in there as i was apparently so huge (asked midwife and she said i was a little ahead but not much). I did give birth to big baby though.
I also agree that your body does what it needs to for your baby and as hard as it is you shouldnt compare yourself to other pregnant women. My friend was having twins and we were due a week apart and for most of the pregnancy we were about the same size if not me bigger but then at the end she grew more. everyone is individual.
