It was very quick and easy - took longer to get the lead apron on me than it did to get a couple of decent shots of the baby. I imagine a scan wouldn't be an uncomfortable experience for your baby - maybe she'll be annoyed at being held still, but nothing painful or uncomfortable about it. Good luck!

I was amazed at how many other babies were there.

Cuppatea summed it up well. It's totally non-invasive and doesn't take long (except for the waiting!).

It's very painless and only takes about 10 mins. They lay them on the bed (same as when you have an ultrasound) and I was able to still hold onto his fingers etc so was right next to him. Took his bottoms off and then the scanner guy just unhooked one side of the nappy to scan then swapped over. There was one bit on each leg where he got a little upset because they have to hold them very still. He wasn't in pain it was just a protest at being held still as he stopped the second that he let go of his leg and he could move it again.
They tell you straight away how it is looking as well.

I think she said it was just like a pregnancy scan really, they put that gel on the baby's hips and scanned them. It was a while ago, but I'm pretty sure that's how it went :)
