Just around the block or something small - I was still walking to work at 8 months preg (about 1km away), albeit very slowly, but I think it helped with labour and recovery - still being fit. We used to go for walks around the block in the evening after dinner (yes, even in winter, around the well lit streets) - a great time for a talk too!

And you should be eating healthy now too - you're feeding your little one now - it's got to make you and baby feel better eating better.

You are so NOT fat, Newmum!

Rosie

But now Xanda and I go for a walk everyday, and we try to go where there are hills so I at least walk up one hill. But I wouldn't be too worried about starting exercise straight away, would just concentrate on healthy diet and easy walks. And then increase walk time and difficulty each week.

I too went shopping the day Joey was born (supermarket) and took it slowly. Also you shouldn't lift anything "heavier than the baby
" for a wee while, so if going for walks with the pram try not to go up/down hills at the start....

Not a strict diet of any sort (my opinion!!)
With walking - as soon as it stops hurting "down there" I would start going to walks, wouldnt do the gym for a few months as it takes your body a while to get back into the swing of things and to recover. Just think what your body is going through!! I was a size 8 - 10 pre pregnancy - went up to around a 14 - 16 (you can never tell with a big bump and I don't own scales!!) and I was back into size 8 jeans within a week - mind you after I stopped breastfeeding and being lazy it crept up on me.
Oh also I wouldnt do any running while b/feeding - to me the thought of milk and everything getting jumbled about doesnt apeal... also the pain iI was in just sitting down!!!

Sorry about the novel - in short take it slow, be consistent, and have a goal in mind (ie within 3 kgs of pre pregnancy weight in 6 months or something)

Also my apologies if this comes across the wrong way!!

Assuming all gos normally and a c-section is not on the cards I was wondering when I can start to do some walking and stuff to start losing weight - I feel really self conscious about the weight I have put on now, and I have decided taht instead of worryign about it now that I will make myself an action plan of exersize and a good healthy diet for after bubs is born - that way I can relax a bit about how much I have put on now cos I feel like I have a plan to get rid of it. But I am not sure how long after a birth you can start that sort of stuff - are you still sore 2 weeks after the birth? When can you start walking? And runing? And going to the gym?
