Author: Leahsmummy
Subject: 27481
Posted: 15 July 2009 at 11:34am

Our routine at the mo at 9 months is:

7am up bottle back to bed

9-10am up breakfast cereal and toast

11-12pm bottle bed

1-2pm up lunch sandwich fruit & cheese

bottle at 3pm and maybe another sleep depending on what she had through the day.

4.30-4.45pm Dinner

6pm bottle and bed for the night.

Around 8 months she went from 4x200mls bottles to 4x 150ml bottles which she did all on her own and she just ate more food, and we also give an afternoon tea, bicuit, fruit or potato stick.

So yes to your Q of 4hrly? As you can see she stil has her bottles 4hrly and then usually 2hrs before/after (depends on how you look at it) a bottle she will have a solids feed. hope that makes sence and helps a wee bit.

Edited by Leahsmummy

    Author: Lea455
Subject: 27481
Posted: 15 July 2009 at 9:01am

Hi, I changed the order of solids and bottles at 8 months and dropped a bottle at the same time, this is what I did:

Breakfast followed by first bottle of the day approx an hour or so after breakfast.

Lunch followed by second bottle at least an hour after, sometimes around mid afternoon depending on when bubs was due a nap

Tea, then third bottle before bed.

I also started giving bubs a biscuit or piece of fruit for afternoon tea, I very rarely give him morning tea as he is usually having his morning nap around this time.

Hes now 9 1/2 months and above seems to be working well, he did initally seem to notice the decrease in bottles and I did give him an extra bottle (just half normal size) a couple of times but after a few days he was quite happy with the new routine.

So in answer to your question about timing of bottles, once you switch the order timing of bottles goes out the window as solids are more important now. You gradually increase the amount of solids you give bubs and since they are having solids first this will fill them up so they shouldn't want as much milk.
