Buggy was a great idea. Only had to spend several hours there until they found out what was making him better. It is amazing how quick kids bounce back after a bug.

Hugs, hope he is doing OK. When I was in (Wellington) hospital, all milk for Jackson was provided (though they couldn't tell me the brand of the formula), and age-appropriate solids were provided too. No food was supplied for me at all.

The hospital would provide cloth nappies, but not disposables and had horrible little items of clothing available. Towels, blankets, sheets etc all provided.

There were buggies you could borrow, as well as toys etc. I took quite a lot from home (like his playmat, exersaucer etc) just to create a homely feel. We were in for more than a week though.

So, that was at Wellington. I think Starship is probably better in terms of surrounds, but they probably provide the same stuff. You could call the hospital to see if they have buggies?

As Nikki said.

Take all that you would require if you were spending the night away, even though they offer nappies it doesn't meant they'll have the right size & they'll be available to you straight away. Often you spend a few hours if not more in the out-patients area (which is quite hectic & busy) before being admitted to a room if they deam it necessary to stay the night/ long day.

Definately take the buggy as well.

If you're breastfeeding they will supply you with food I think (Jake was younger when we went in) but not if you're not. He will get meals if he is the patient but not the parent if not bf'ing. We had nappies supplied but its good to have some so you don't have to keep asking as some wards are stingier with them (and take wipes in case they don't have them). I'd take the buggy, in case you end up needing to pace the halls, or just get out for a bit to get yourself a muffin upstairs!

looks like I'm going to have to take my son into starship (just waiting for dr decision she's ringing starship to talk with them) and so I'm just wondering what should I take in with me if we do need to go?

food wise should I take some food or will they provide?
I'll take nappies but if I run out do they supply? He has very bad diaherra which is why we are possibly going in.
should I take him in his buggy cause he likes his buggy or will it get in the way?
