Callum has tea around 5.30 and then play time till his bath (between 6.15/6.30 depending) and then a story, bottle and bed by 7pm. Often I go into our room and it's just before 7 so it is possible to fit in tea etc and get them off to bed earlier, although I admit it's pretty full on between 5.30 and 7 in our house during the week!

If the 8pm bedtime is working for you though then I would stick with it. C has always gone down by 7 coz we've always had him up at 7am in the mornings and it just works out that way. My DH is never home before 8 so he would much prefer a later bedtime but I don't want to change anything now C is in such a good routine

I think that 8-8.30 is a bit late. As someone else said, sleep begets sleep.

When Amy was about that age she was very ambivalent about her breakfast after her bottle so I switched them over (a bit earlier than recommended) and I found that she ate a good breakfast and still drank nearly all of the 200ml bottle.

As for changing her bedtime, it will take a week or two but bring it forward by 10 minutes each night. It is a similar theory that people use at the start/end of daylight savings.

At breakfast she will rarely take solids I have tried waiting for at least half an hour after her bottle - she may take a bit of toast. On average she is having 600mls a day, a pottle of yoghurt, at dinner she will either have pumpkin or kumara with peas and chicken/fish or meatballs she will often have a jar of watties banana cereal or another yoghurt. At her last Plunket check she was all on track.

I like my evenings as well.

I try to give dinner at 4.30-5, then into the bath around 5.30 then getting into pjs by 6.15-6.30pm. When Spencer use to have milk he would have that around 6ish and with Kyle I try to feed him as close to 7 as possible, depends how his afternoon nap has gone.

She doesn't seem to be eating that much, no breakfast and only a biscuit/yoghurt at lunch. You could try swapping to food before bottle as that is recommended at 8-9 months. I always kept milk first at brekkie though as Spencer always woke thirsty and i would just wait 30 mins before offering breakfast unless he asked for it sooner.

From what I remember this was Spencer's rough routine.

7am bottle
7.30am breakfast
8.30am bed
10am bottle
12pm lunch
1pm bottle
1.30pm bed
3.30-4pm bottle
4.30-5pm dinner
5.30pm Bath
6pm bottle
7pm bed

Hope that helps.
I'm not sure how we can really change her routine to get her off to bed earlier.

She is still waking during the nights sometimes she resettles quickly and others it takes over an hour to resettle - refuses to take a bottle at all - sometimes she may only be in bed for a short period. She she eating enough?

What does everyone else do ...

Edited by hannibal
