I'd definetly go see your GP asap - if they refer you to a specialist it can take up to 6 months to get an appointment (unless you choose to pay yourself) and also they must know that you've been trying for a certain amount of time (depending on your age) so its better to see your GP now than wait and find out you have to wait another 6mths to a year for an appointment. Hey Sarah - he was great about it. I'm 27 - so still relatively young and already have a little man and my cycles have been pretty regular since AF started again but he still sent off for them. I was relieved. He was really positive about everything and had the same philosophy that I did in that I didn't want to keep trying for another 6 months if there is something wrong now... So leish, was your doctor pretty cool about starting tests then?

You should def go and see your GP and let them know what is going on. They will most likely organise hormonal blood tests etc to make sure that everything is ok with you. After reading on here about someone who went to the GP after a year of trying. only to find out that they hadn't ovulated at all during the year, I went and saw my GP last Friday (even though we have only been consciously TTC for the last four months) which was CD20 and he organised for me to have the blood tests the next day which is supposed to be the magic day for getting those tests done. I just didn't want to wait and just keep trying and then find out that things weren't even working properly in the first place. Your GP shouldn't have any problems about starting to get things moving from theri perspective. Thanks guys,
I have tried talking to hubby, but all the people he knows are older than me and had no problem so he cant see it as an issue.. He just says it will happen and I'm sure i guess it will eventually.
I have been using ovulation kits and got my cycle pretty sussed, I would like to see my gp, as I came off the pill last July 2005... had hoped that we might conceive my mistake...
The other prob is that hubby is on medication that affects our ability to conceive

I met a lady in the weekend who has been TTC for 8 years... she said to me that 2 years is nothing! I'm sure compared to her journey 2 years seems nothing but to me it seems like a lifetime. Anyway, her advice was to really push the experts for answers, as they are only just being offered certain tests now after 8 years that if they had earlier, may have helped. Hi, I'm 32 and have been TTC for 2 1/2 years, 1 year on fertility treatment. Its nice to know there are others out there going through the similar things. one of the hardest things is finding out friends/family are pregnant - especially when they have only been trying for 2 mins then they fall pregnant!!! I too have been TTC #1 nearly 2 years after a miscarraige in 2004.(and Im 29 1/2) I would say go & have a chat with your GP about it & find out as to whether your cycles are regular (temping as mentioned before is great).Also have you recently come off the pill? As that can take time for your body to regulate itself again. They maybe willing to do something sooner rather than later to help you (we couldnt get any until we had been TTC for over a year and we are about to have our second fertility appointment to discuss meds/IVF etc). I too can sympathise in people around you getting pregnant - both of my SILs got pregnant & have had babies since we were TTC plus friends etc.

Wishing you all the best & that you will get your BFP real soon. Remember your not alone & we are all willing to talk & share the ups & downs with you as we are all so familiar with it ourselves.

After trying for 18 months to become pregnant, changing my diet and lifestyle, 3 cycles of taking fertility drugs I am finally pregnant.

I am only 5weeks 2 days pregnant so there is hope.

This is my second time trying after in the nineties giving up trying to get pregnant for over 4 years.

I am also 32 and TTC for almost 2 years. I know this doesn't really help, but apparently fertility issues affect 1 in 5, so you are not alone. I am seeing a naturopath at the moment and if I don't get any joy with that soon, I will go down the fertility specialist route. Charting is a great way to get really familiar with your cycle and it may identify if there are any obvious issues. Hi Tanya.  Welcome to oh Baby.

I wish I could give you some great advice, but I'm in the same situation.  I'm 30, been TTC#2 for 18 months, and no luck.  Have had 2 miscarriages during that time, and have had some unsuccessful fertility treatments.

The only thing I can recommed is going to your GP to see if you can go see a fertility specialist.  They may be able to help you!

I think once you are over 30 and have been unsuccessful for 6 months you can go and see a specialist and have tests done.

One thing i would do if your not already is chart your temps to make sure u are ovulating.
