We found wheatmeal bread the best as it was easier for Caden to "gum", I found white bread was a bit glugy and harder for him to mush up.
Marmite and Vegemite are what we staretd off with and I used to give caden strips(soliders) of bread and he would suck on them and gum them until they were mush.

Yeah will be fine. Kyle won't eat off a spoon so we have had to start with finger food. They do tend to sometimes gag a bit, but just remember it is part of learning how to chew and swallow and overcoming the gag reflex. And I remember with Spencer he never choked but he did power vomit everything out a couple of times when he gagged badly.

Ok that wasn't trying to alarm you more just letting you know it's normal so you don't get put off if she gags a bit.

If you have any puree left you can use that in sandwiches and also I make sandwiches out of corn thins instead of bread and you can also give them spreads on cruskits/rice crackers etc. Just for variety, different tastes, textures.

Iv just started giving Brennan sandwiches. Henry was having sandwiches then. He had four teeth. THough most babies i know are pretty good at gumming food if necesary. i would try it - obviously supervise her and see how she goes. Just a warning dont go too overboard on the marrmite lol henry had it heaps in sandwiches at the start and now if i put a marmite sandwich in front of him he crys lol i think i over did it.
