I found that with each set of new teeth I'd have to suffer through a bit of biting for a few days while they broke through, very rarely longer than a week though. I'd just do the same as you and take him off, it was much more common at the end of a feed anyway. Then he'd adjust his latch to accommodate the new teeth and things would get back to normal.

it is horrible isnt it. I would feel nervous at every feed. Took me ages to feel at ease again. Good luck hun. I screamed the first time and he laughed at me That was on Saturday and then he didn't do it again till today.

I thought he had finished feeding when he bit me so I took him off but ended up feeding him again before he went to bed and he did it again even though he was hungry.
He has hold of his teething ring pretty much the whole time he is up (except when feeding), I put some teething liquid on his gums though and no biting at the last feed.

I wouldn't mind so much but each time it has been the right hand one so now I have one normal boob and one really sore one.

Watch out for when they start playing is all I can say! Oooo and the clamp-with-teeth-then-turn-head thing is ouuuuuuuch!

I'd just remove from breast if the biting starts. Hopefully he'll understand soon enough that it means that you aren't willing to put up with it!!

They often bite when teething too though... and I guess that is what your little one's problem is. Every time henry has gotten a new tooth he has biten me. Its almost like its a new feeling and he has to try it out. He got his first two teeth at 4months, when he bit me i put my pinky in the side of his mouth, unlatched him, sat him up and said 'dont bite, it hurts mummy' he only bit me a couple times as he soon seemed to realise it interupted his feed. He now has eight teeth which he has had since just over 6months. If he bites now (which doesnt happen very often at all) he gets taken off and told 'no biting' and thats the end of the feed. R has 2 bottom and 2 top and he bit me a couple of weeks ago, I dont think it was intentional but he was being stroppy. I jumped as ya do and pulled him off i think me jumping gave him a fright because he cried and i just said to him no biting that hurts mummy....wether he understood is another story lolbut he hasn't done it again......yet!
