With my last one I was booked for an induction at around 38 weeks, as baby had not turned they booked me in to have him turned the next day & when i went for the appt he had turned, so you never know. Rowan was bum first - extended - breech.

My understanding is if your baby is extended breech - i.e. legs up by head, it is pretty hard for them to turn on their own as they don't have any way to 'push off'. So if that's the possie your baby is in you should probably do some reading on ECVs.

Generally they look at turning babies at around 37 weeks.

Bum first is the safest way should you want to try for a natural birth im not sure if it will be one of your options but i know a couple of kids born naturally that were bum first.

I have a feeling they wait till late to try turning babies because if they do it too early they are more likely to just flip back again.

Josh was 1 foot and balls so i was being taken for a c-sec but because they realized so late (i was fully dilated) and josh was in such a hurry there wasnt time.

Bubs is bum first and estimated to be about 5lb 9oz at the moment, so on the small side. Sam turned breech at 37 weeks and because of the position he got himself into (knees presenting with one foot stuck under my pelvis) there wasn't any chance of him turning back as there was no room.

I think it depends on what is presenting, how much fluid, how big the baby is etc.

i was 38 weeks when josh turned from head down 3/5 engaged to breech naughty boy i just thought he had a big wiggle so when i went into labour the next night the MW was very surprised to find a foot presenting.

Anything is possible. If bubs had room to turn breech it will have room to turn back at this stage but if bub has been that way a wee while it may not be roomy enough.

Have just found out today that this bubs is breech. I'll have an appt on Mon with the specialist, but has anyone had luck with their bub turning after about 37 weeks??
