Thanks ladies. I was able to have it treated with anitbiotics. still sore but not accute. I looked after a woman who was around 25 weeks and had her appendix out (funnily enough it was a healthy appendix). She had an infection but that didn't affect the baby at all.

A guy I worked with his girlfriend had her appendix removed when she was pregnant, I can't remember how far along she was but I think maybe 18ish weeks. There was a risk she would lose baby and she has a much bigger scar than you would normally have as they had to make the incision different. She and baby were both fine though. I haven't had this experience personally. But a friend had her gall bladder removed at 5 and a half months pg and it went fine - not complications at all.

On Thursday I was admitted to hospital because my doctor thought I had a appendiacitis. The pain receded a bit while I was there and I asked to go home. The surgeon reluctantly agreed on the condition that I come straight back if the pain flare up again.
The pain has come back as bad as ever, I'm going to have to go back and probably will have surgery. Has anyone else had surgery while pregnant before? How did it go?
