All of John Hughes stuff is great, RIP! My Partner and I are both huge fans of his! But seriously I think I could watch almost any JH early stuff and be happy.

I don't know that I ever saw Some Kind of Wonderful but it rings some bells.

My favourite of his work was the lesser-known Some kind of wonderful which is basically the anti-pretty in pink in which the weird but cool friend wins over the pretty but boring object of lust.
