Dani's birthday was pretty low key because we've all been very sick for ages but she was still chuffed with her cake and loves the scooter we got her.

Danielle is really keeping me (and her sister) on our toes. She's having her first day at creche today and we'll see how she goes. Hopefully it'll be alright. oh Pixie, sounds like you're having a rough time of it!! we get quite a few tantrums from Brody, but i think the majority of that is fed off Liam. He's definitely hit the terrible 2's early though. so did Liam. I was hoping for at least a months grace of tantrums etc when the baby arrived, but no such luck!!

Yay Emmi, i see on FB your wee girly has a name!! love it!

Amy have they said how long they'll let you go over before its a c-sect? or can you go to 42 weeks?

Nothing much new here to report. Baby's getting evicted on Monday, 6 days left of being pregnant FOREVER!!!!! kind of a surreal feeling knowing i won't be doing it again!

Nothing much happening here. DS seems to have a tendency to land on his head if he is going to fall over, which is a tad frustrating. I realise they're top heavy, but really? Every time. Congrats Buzzy - all these new babies are very exciting. But I have decided no more for me. One is enough since he is still driving me crazy!

Pixie, we are still having major sleeping/breastfeeding issues so you aren't alone. It is driving me mental and I don't have to deal with earthquakes or 4 days of work so you are doing amazing!!! Hugs!! My guy has just learned to say 'boob' and now he can ask for it, it is much worse because he demands which side he wants which isn't always the one I want to give him. The breastfeeding at night is just plain awful but I guess it is better than the screams if he doesn't get it. If he slept in his own cot I seriously would have left him to cry by now I think but as he still sleeps with me it's hard to say no.

I'm heading back to work 2 mornings a week this year and I can't wait! Wow Amy, I can't believe Flynn is going to be a big brother so soon! I was just thinking how Bethany was Kaitlyn's age when I had Kaitlyn... *nostalgic sigh* I'm sure you'll love having a newborn and it will all come back to you in the blink of an eye. I never could quite get over how HUGE Bethany seemed the first time I saw her after giving birth to Kaitlyn - I'd been told that would happen, but I was sure I wouldn't think so cuz she'd always been petite for her age. But nope, she seemed like a giant beside her tiny sister! Ahhh memories, if DH had been keen I would have loved to have a third now with the same gap. Hope all goes well with labour/birth and settling in with your new wee family of four :-)

Where would we be without these forums to spill the news, I just cant wait 7weeks!!!
Still in shock but have to share or i'll burst. Am 4 days late and have a good strong line at 4pm today.
I had put all hope of a 3rd bub away. Both Hubby and I just thought it would be like last time and we didn't want 6years between them again.
Hubby is pretty shocked as he thought with my weight and PCOS it wouldn't happen.

Well hope it sticks and is here to greet us in sept. Happy New Year everyone! Congratulations Emma on the new baby and congratulations to the other babies about to arrive!
I've just been reading back laughing at my posts about how well Riley was sleeping and how I had night weaned.
After that he was pretty much sick with colds and awake every hour or two every night. I worked really hard and got it sorted again then I took him overseas to meet his dad's family. They all sleep in the same room so his sleeping all went out the wondow again. I honestly don't know how I've managed working 4 days a week on no sleep for so long. And if its not Riley it's the earthquakes. I'm so sick of them. It's so terrifying to be woken up several times a night thinking you're going to die. Sorry if I sound negative but they're doing my head in.
He's been going down at 11. So I'm working on it again. Tonight he was down by 9.45. I expect he'll wake twice before morning which can handle. He also wants to breastfeed every 20 mins or so. And he's started yelling NO, kicking and hitting and screaming. sigh.... Hi everyone!! omg buzzy and kmarie, how are you guys!! Long time no hear!

Im in the TWW at the mo, AF is due on sat so not long to wait now.

Emmi, I love your birth story, love love love it.

I would take Harper to get allergy tested Buzzy, Molly has had a wee bit of eczema, but nothing to write home about. We just used some cream that a friend made up for us and it does the trick.

Buzz, glad you've managed to figure out the cause of the vomiting, it's frustrating that allergies aren't our GP's fortes most of the time! As I have various allergies myself, I've identified some in my girls and pretty much just try and eliminate them from their diet for the time being. Kaitlyn has eczema which flares majorly with dairy, and is frequently constipated too (she doesn't even cope well with banana.) A GP I spoke to suggested leaving it out of her diet for a year, then trying it again, as sometimes their systems just need some time to mature. So that would be an option for you too. If you're worried though, it sounds to me like it would be worth pushing it with your dr and asking for a referral to someone who can help, or at least confirm the type of allergy Harper has. I had a friend whose son reacted to egg too, and her dr told her she was crazy (in not so many words!) because he didn't have the classic reactions. But following mother's instinct, when she finally pushed for it, she got him in for testing in starship. They were great. Most of all... *hugs* please remember, you're not alone. Allergies are unfortunately very common these days :S And mine are as yet undiagnosed, I've just had to figure them out myself (after a ton of testing showed nothing) - so to be honest, I don't put much stock in allergy testing as they don't necessarily cover everything! Don't get me wrong, it's worth doing, but if the tests don't show what you think Harper's allergic to, then I'd keep trusting your instincts because you could still be right.

Emmi, congrats!!! Did we find out whether bubs is a boy or a girl? And name and weight etc.? I take it the birth went well, well done you - so exciting :-)

Buzz, I agree with Emmi, get her tested. it'll be alot easier than trying to figure out by trial and error. Hey there, long time no see...
I havent been back here in ages but lurk every now and then.
I have a problem and need some advice.
Harper has eczema and has had since she was 4 mths old. We deal with it pretty well and her flare ups are minimal now, mainly when she's sick, teething or just down and out.
She has had a skin reaction to peanuts and the Dr just told us to stay away from them till she's 2.
Tonight we have just figured she has an allergy or intolerance to eggs as well. She has had a few reactions to eggs over the last year but sometimes she has nothing or it is such a long time after I havent put 2 and 2 together(I feel and sound like a terrible mother I know). In the last 3 weeks she has had hayfever and has been vomitting on random nights with a cough. The Dr said she has asthma and put her on predinislone and flixitide (sp). I have only just realised those vomitting eppisodes have been after we have eaten eggs at some time during the last 3-4 hrs.
She has been 100% better since xmas day. Tonight we had a pasta with a cream egg sauce, she loved it. After she started with a cough and grabbing her mouth and then at bed time she had her milk and threw up everywhere and had very runny poos (abnormal for her as she struggles with chronic constipation)after that she was fine playing fairies round the hse till 10pm.
I guess my worry is that she has a problem with these things but I dont know for sure, My Dr just says to stay away from those things but I am reluctant to take things from her diet without knowing for sure. My mind is boggling with what to do and the huge task ahead. I have looked at allergy nz but to be a part of that you have to join. Maybe I should find another dr or should I not worry and just not give her whole egg, she seems to cope with egg in small doses but is that the eczema trigger???

Woohoo... More climbers. I've got photos of DS balanced precariously as he tries to climb onto the computer desk to touch the buttons on the keyboard. He is getting much better at walking up and down steps though and actually goes feet first now - he had a tumble down the front steps and landed on his head a few months ago. He got a trip to ED for that and was fine.
Emmi and Kat - not too long to go. I consider less than 100 days not too long. So exciting

Brodys a climber too... has been since before he was 1. he's flipped over the back of the couch and landed straight on his head before. i think i cried more than him, i was hysterical lol. and i can't have any low windows open or the one behind the other couch open coz he tries to get out. he'll climb anything he can!

Star, my boys climb onto the shoe box (which is right by the couch) and love diving off it onto the couch. its a great game.

hope you're all well... i don't post much but i do lurk. i can't post from the mac because it won't let me log in using chrome for some reason, so only ever post if i'm on the lappy (which is very rarely)

Boys are good, Liam turns 3 in about 5 weeks, kindy next year! Brody's just as cheeky as ever. Bump is coming along nicely, so far is the smallest of the 3. We move into a new (hopefully forever) house in less than 3 weeks. thats about it from us!

hey emmi, kinda funny, she's not allowed on the dinner table, but on the coffee table is ok? that just sounded kinda cute LOL

well my DD is not allowed to climb on the tables, so when i catch her, I take her off immediately. but she does like jumping on the couch. or getting up whereever possible.

Hey girls!
My DD is a climber, but I guess she knows how to get down too so I dont worry about it at all, shes not allowed on teh dinner table (cos thats rude) but we have a step ladder I keep up for her to climb on, she climbs on the coffee table, the couch, and along the back of the couch, and onto the windsill. She also climbs the stairs when ever we go downstairs or out. hello mellopuff. oh I've been lucky then, she hasn't fallen off yet. i always get her down in time. but it just takes a minute while i'm in the kitchen or doing laundry and next thing u know, she's getting into trouble

Hello I have a 17mth old also. He has been climbing on the table since 14mth has fallen off a couple of times. He has just learnt to climb the ladder and get on the top bunk in his sisters room. So we now have to keep their bedroom door shut.

Hello Ladies!
I would like to join in this group, if I may. My Victoria is 17 months old and a very active runner. Oh dear, right now she's climbing up the dining room table! She does keep me going all day long.

We have just finished breastfeeding but she still sleeps in our bedroom (her bed is fastened to our bed) since she still needs soooo much cuddles. We are trying for our second child now and I am curious when it will work

You can get it from the chemist, its actually an antihistamine but (can) have a sedating side affect (it made no difference for lilla, and in 10% of kids it the opposite effect ) I wonder if you could just get him to sleep for a night or two whether he would catch on and think it was a good idea?

Maybe? Could just try to move everything 15 mins or 1/2 an hour earlier? I guess you can only try right?
Does he sleep earlier for his nap if hes been running around or anything? if hes slightly more tired (ie you get him up at 8.15am) then he might go down for his nap that bit earlier? if it works you could keep moving it a little earlier till hes in bed at 7.30 or what ever time you want him going down at night?
Me either, this bump is starting to get annoying! I could try that - it would probably mean I should wake him up in the morning because he sleeps until 8.30-9am most days - probably because he wakes a million times overnight so he is still tired.

omg Em - 52 days to go!! And awesome sleeping Lil!!!

I have tried distracting through the 4pm nap a couple of times and what happened was he just made his nap later. it made the night even harder because he wasn't keen to go to sleep before midnight. I had been thinking about you lately Pinky! I hope the no nap thing works. Have you tried to keep him up at 4 so that he goes to bed at 7ish? Ive found being out and distraction is the easiest way to keep her happy when I dont want her to go to sleep. No idea if it would make a difference with Alex but might be worth a shot for 3ish nights to see?
Lil has just started to have a (generally) 1.5-2 hour nap at lunch time ish, which is kinda weird cos shes had 1x50 min nap a day for ages now, but she only wakes (generally) twice a night now (bliss!)

Hi everyone... I would like to know about how all your toddlers are napping??

I am still having a terrible time with sleeping with my boy having one nap around lunch and then another around 4-5pm which means he is OFTEN still up at 10.30pm/11pm. The other night he was up until 2am!!!

Anyway, for the first time ever today he didn't have a nap at all. He got very grumpy at lunch so I took him to bed. He looked like he was going to sleep for about 5min and then 'bing' he was up and going again. Soooo... tonight he bloody went to sleep at 7.15pm and it feels unbelievable!!!!! I have been really struggling lately and wishing like crazy that I could have any sort of evening without him and tonight it has happened! But how long will he sleep for? His longest stretch is still about 3 hours and that is only if I am really lucky.

My girl vibes were right (or at least I hope so - the sonographer said she was 99% sure!). Kat - I really feel for you - your little boy will be very precious but its going to take a while to come to terms with.

It's so cool hearing what all the babies are up to. Flynn is such a character and copies everything, and understands so much... he's so much fun at the moment.

I'm struggling a bit with working - I just want to pack it in and be a mum. Yay for climbers. DH discovered Joel sitting on the kitchen counter the other day playing with whatever was up there. He's almost mastered climbing ladders too, but his legs are a bit short.

Lilla is into everything, loves opening everything, loves climbing on everything, she seriously doesnt sit still! Still a crappy sleeper, but weve had a couple of 'good' nights over the last few weeks (3ish wake ups instead of the standard 6), hubby comes home in another month and a half, looking forwrd to that! i was wrong with my girl vibes.... boy number 3 here. we actually got told it was a girl at a&e a week before our scan on friday so i was devastated when they said boy on friday. might take me a bit to accept that i'll never have a daughter.

i've got a climber too... well 2 actually. liam pretends to be a monkey and climbs, and brody follows. we ended up at a&e yesterday because brody fell off the toybox and cut his chin open on the oil fin heater. no stitches, just glue.

So... Kat & Amy do you know if your girl vibes were right yet?? :)

Kaitlyn's 15mth imms were last week and she was absolutely horrified with me and the nurse for putting her through it :( Quite traumatic, thank goodness for lollipops lol! She's been fragile ever since and sleeping lots, so hopefully she'll be back to her usual self soon.

Yep, she's a climber too! We just bought an indoor slide and an outdoor swing/slide set (I love TM!) and the girls can't get enough of them! It's still slightly scary seeing the heights Kaitlyn reaches but she's doing very well - already a much bigger risk taker than her big sister was at the same age. I guess that comes from having a bigger sibling to copy! One of her fave activities is climbing up and down our two flights of stairs :)

Awwww blowing kisses are gorgeous eh. The other day we asked Kaitlyn if she'd like a shower and "no!" was the adamant answer. When we finally convinced her to have on with daddy, she immediately went over to him, took his hand and pulled him down the hallway to the shower, saying "um on!" (come on). Sooo cute!

I need to make an appointment for Kaitlyn about her tongue tie. She can't lick food out of a spoon properly without compensating, and I'm concerned that there are some sounds she isn't saying yet because she actually can't. (She mimicks us surprisingly accurately most of the time, minus some sounds that I know are affected by tongue ties) If dr doesn't refer us we're thinking of going private as I've found out there's a dental surgery in town that does laser surgery and has lots of experience with tongue ties in children. Cheaper (and less invasive) by far than general anaesthetic! Will see how we go.

I miss my Molly too. She's such a gorgeous wee girl. She'll learn how to get off stuff when she's ready. Joel knows how to get off stuff. He learnt that pretty early. He's also figured out how to position stuff to climb on higher stuff.

Amy - cute that Flynn's blowing kisses. With the climbing, my DH turned around to discover Joel standing on the kitchen counter happy as Larry.

I've got a climber too - it's amazing how he can get up on really high things now! He's very careful though, and still no bumps or bruises.
