Update!

After speaking with plunketline, I reduced DS's bottle feeds and man, that little guy sits in his highchair with his mouth open. My girl went through a stage of not wanting to eat with a spoon (or at all some days), & I found feeding her with my fingers instead (mushy but washable...) would work sometimes to get food into her. Now she's okay using a spoon sometimes, just lets me know when shes not interested! Apart from the watties banana cereal - which she will eat of the spoon its clean hands and finger feeding - we are teething too (bubs is 10.5 months) and won't have a bar of the spoon either - so the finger gets some pumpkin/kumara on it and we do it this way and she will feed herself her chicken/sausages (for example), we are having major problems with her bottle - down to one a day but she is still drinking water. Oh the joys of teething!

One of our tricks was the two spoons but he won't have a bar of it now.

Gave him a plate of yoghurt with spoon in it at lunchtime and he tried to feed himself without any success. Though it looked like he was happy. I was allowed to put some food on the spoon with him holding it and he would guide the spoon to his mouth - but that was only a couple of teaspoons worth. He did eat his crackers and grapes too.

Issy did the same thing at that age .. only babies eat off a spoon (according to her brain)

We just gave her food and she got the food to her mouth somehow we tried to make it finger friendly, but the hand makes a pretty good scoop lol

So it's been a bad couple of days...

DS will no longer accept spooned food from me or DF. He's always been tricky, though we always had a couple of tricks up our sleeves to get him started, but now he is adamant about no spoon. And we're not forcing him, no matter how frustrating. And it is frustrating, I could cry.

So he's living off cruskits, crackers, grapes and formula. I offer him heaps more finger foods which usually get chucked off the high tray (replaced covertly) and chucked again.
Consequently he's having broken sleep because he is hungry.

Yes, he is teething but this spoon aversion is not related, IMO.

Any tips at all please? (Oops will cross post in appropriate thread too)
