we have a few car parks that have signs on them for expectant mums but even if they dont I park in the parents park even if I dont have Kobe. i was referring to the expectant parents parks at Centre city lenabeanz it my comment. Time and time again I see people with no huge bump norbabies as I would never of thought of parking there with my two older ones. even now I go and find another car park and I have a 'right' to park there. Probably when I get bigger I shall park there but at present I just feel stink cause I can hide my bump (not for long.) and people might think I shouldn't be using them.

I parked in an elderly park the other day. I had to run in and grab a few things and was running late.. as usual All parents parks were occupied and NONE of them had carseats in them.. they were probably all old people!

The other day this old man was driving up our street reaaaaly slowly, people were beeping at him and overtaking.. it looked like he was trying to find a house or something.. so he stopped suddenly in the middle of the road, did a (slow) u-turn, then went slowly back the other way! Stopped on a bus stop and had the bus driver slamming his horn on too! This "expectant mothers parking" must be an out of Auckland thing. I've never seen it-unless it's written in tiny letters under the picture of the person with the pram??!??!

There is ONE park in Centre City for "expenting mothers only" i saw it and showed david (fr future refernce!) and ths old dude got out of his car and was in that spot... I nearly started my anger burst but David saw that look in my face and said he was buying me lunch!! If there is a picture of a person with a pram in the parking space - I as a "heavily preggo lady" can park there and I won't get a ticket/towed?

Yeah, how long do you think you can get away with parking in them for???

I still park in the parents' parks and carry Hannah (and she's damn heavy, which is why I like to park close!). The reason I carry her still, rather than letting her walk, is that I seriously don't trust cars in parking lots. I find it much more dangerous than a road.

P.S. I get very angry with people who aren't parents who park in parent's spots, with people who aren't disabled who park in disabled parks, and same with non-elderly people parking in elderly parks. The general rule is that they are for mums with young kids or mums to be... so heavily preggos can, and those of us with younger kids...

Ok so i don't drvie so parking for m is not too much of a bother, however the rudeness of old people is. My Hubby's grandmother is a great example she told me at christmas (well she was not talking to me just in front of me) she can't understand why we need to bring our big buggies into to cafe's when she is having anice quiret chat to friend's . We should leave the buggies outside not sure if she ment with or without the children in them. She said it really anoy's her that us Mum's think we have special right's.

Oooh this one really annoys me too. We were at a mall the other day and a couple pulled into the parent's park next to us, they didn't have any children with them and were not obviously pregnant or disabled. What really annoyed me though, was that, despite a huge amount of room on the other side of them (and plenty of free general parking spaces), they chose to park right up next to our passenger side over the parking lines!! How the heck was I supposed to squeeze my pregnant self out of the car or get my daughter out? When we politely asked them to move as we needed some more room to get out the guy smugly squeezed himself through the gap in our cars and said "why can't you do it, I can fit fine!" we dont have mummy parks here. But i pees me off when i see people parking in the diabled carparks I have been known to ask people parking in them if they would like the disability that goes with the car park as well. I didnt see if he had a disabled card or not but he did have a stick, although I dont think he even used it cos it was hanging on the trolley and he walked fine without it. no offence to older people but they seem to think that by respecting our elders that is an excuse for them to be rude. we have the same at a local mall - there is 3 expecting mothers car parks and time and time again I see older people or people who don't have kids or pregnant parking in them. I remember when I was in the Uk with my aunty- who has a disable permit because of bad syatic(spelling i am sure is wrong) from child birth we were in the huge mall car park and driving around for ages to get a park we finally spot a disabled and went to go to it - this guy drives just before us and parks in it - so my aunty gets out of the car and challenged him to show her his disable card - he didn't have one so he 'kindly' pulled out of the park so we could have it. Today I went to the supermarket and the carpark was really full with people waiting and then I see an old couple walking towards thier car which was parked in a parents park so I put my indicator on to wait for them and the guy shakes his head at me as if to say no you cant have this park but I stayed and he did it again so I put down my window and said why cant I wait and he goes no you cant and I said well it is a parents park not disabled and I have a child and another on the way so where is your child and he goes they are on thier way out so I said thats fine, Im happy to wait and just stayed there. two minutes later him and his wife jump in the car and drive off!
