You cant overfeed a breastfeed baby. They will just refuse if they are not hungry.<br /><br />What can happen however is that they drink little bits more often but never really get the hindmilk in as they are just drinking the watery front bits. Way I overcome this is usually to offer the one boob and only 3 hours later switch to the other one.<br /><br />With summer coming babies are going to want to drink more often anyway as I dont offer water to my breastfed baby until they are on solids and then only with mealtimes. ]]>

I just figure him and I are lucky, and now he is refusing if he isn't hungry, and what he isn't using most definately just comes out the other end! <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0"> <br /><br />Wouldnt worry about it so long as you're happy with the schedule, then why change it?]]>

I worried too and had read in several books that you can't over feed breastmilk but asked my plunket nurse just incase <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0"> <br />I think that in our case, feeding frequently (2-3hourly) during the day helped her sleep all night.]]>

But his normal day routine at the moment is 1 hour awake time, and then down for an hour's sleep. I offer him 1/2 a feed shortly after he wakes up, and the other 1/2 before he goes back down, and 90% of the time he has both. But I'm wondering if I'm feeding him too often. <br /><br />Should I try skipping some of these feeds maybe? But surely he wouldn't feed if he wasn't hungry right? What do other people do??
