If she doesn't nap well she wants to eat loads at the best of times so I may not know whether it is a spurt or not LOL.

She was feeding lots last week and then yesterday slept massively all day (not at night though ironically) so maybe she has already had the spurt early? Don't they usually sleep loads afterwards?

When we were riding the growth spurt wave with JJ, I ended up co-sleeping with him (not by design, I didn't intend to, just found I spent most of the night in the spare bed in his room). When we get around to #2 I'm going to plan to co-sleep for a while so it's not such a shock to the system.

I'm no expert but when bubs is still that little I don't think there's much point in 'training' them to eat or sleep differently, it all seems to reset itself around 4 months anyway...

She just farts and squirms and carries on and then thinks she wants to feed every 1.5 hours (which she really doesn't need to - esp given all my milk!) She sleeps ok during the day. Yesterday she slept 2 hours at every nap but only in 45 min blocks in the night!

The lactation consultant I spoke to said she thinks Ashley is eating too much at night - both in terms of time on the breast and number of feeds ( I have loads of milk). She has advised me to stay away from 2 hourly feeds and shorten the midnight feed so she is only latched for as long as she is sucking and swallowing and no longer.

However, I image the 6 week growth spurt is about to hit us! How on earth will I balance both these things?? How do you manage growth spurts?
