I was on the minipill and I have been diagnosed with PCO.
After I miscarried I stayed off the pill all together cause I wanted things to be natural. The first 2 periods like clockwork even back to 30 days like normal then all of a sudden no period!!
Drove myself stupid thinking I was UTD and that by some miracle I hadn't miscarried etc etc cause I was getting all sorts of what I describe as Pregnancy symptoms.
Went to my Dr and she did a blood test it came back soooooooo neg it wasn't funny lol but I still didn't get my period so I became a POAS addict.........totally
Anyway AF finally came................I'm putting it down to a bit of stress from organising my wedding and finances as well as my cycle just sorting itself out
Hopefully things will go back to normal for me now but I wouldn't be too worried about it at this stage.............When I first came off the combined BCP I didn't get my period for a whole year!! Have to admit I enjoyed it at the time but I didn't want kids then lol

So I have been thinking to start doing something like temping or getting an ovulation microscope. I did OPKs last month but found them very confusing and I think I started too early and didn't buy enough so yeah I don't think I want to do them again as it was a bit stressful, felt like doing a pregnancy test every time lol

Would a microscope or charting be better for me do you think?

If I am to go to the doctor to get a test to see if I'm ovulating, will they ask me to do something like that anyway? Is it best to try it then take the data to the doctor after Ive tried or go first? My doctor is great, I changed to her after my old doctor just brushed me off saying it was nothing... but yeah I think my doctor is reluctant to do much until we've been trying for a while, as Im quite young and we've only been trying 3 months, 2 of those seriously.

Last night I felt positive AF was arriving and yet its still not here. Sore boobs, some cramps, just a sore ish/crampy feeling in the abdomen, nothing major though.... soooo confusing.... is that how you feel when you're pregnant, or am I just having a big delay in getting AF?

I have been so stressed this month so Im not surprised if it's late for that but somehow I suspect its not that simple.

Author: Hopes
Subject: 28843
Posted: 20 September 2009 at 6:44am

Don't worry, long posts are fine! It sounds like you're in a confusing spot!

I think wait it out a few more days, and see if AF arrives or test again. Some people don't get positive results from a preg test for a little whilte after AF is due, so you never know, this could all be a good thing.

If AF arrives (or doesn't, and the test is negative) I'd head back to the Dr. If yours isn't very understanding, get another one. They are out there - mine was absolutely lovely when we found we were having problems.

Have you tried temping? I know it sounds like a bitof a hassle, but I think it would be great in your situation. It might be that your body just doesn't like regularity, and ovs at odd times. If you were temping, you'd probably know when you'd oved, and so would know when to expect AF (or hope she doesn't arrive ). There's a thread on this board with the details, and another where a lot of ladies who temp hang out (they're lovely)

Also, when they did the tests, did they check to see if you were ovulating? I'm sure they did, since it sounds like they were thorough, and it would have ben a problem if you weren't.

Hang in there - I'm sure you'll get through. This kind of trouble is never fun, but you'll appreciate your Bubs all that much more when you have him/her.

If AF is becoming irregular I would go back to the dr and get more tests done, making sure you oving and everything...

    Author: snugglebug
Subject: 28843
Posted: 19 September 2009 at 11:32pm

Hi everyone

Sorry this might be a lengthy message but bear with me.

I have been off the pill for a year and a half now. My cycle took a while to come back but it was pretty much back to normal at the end of last year.

This year I had some trouble where my cycle was 2 months apart for 2 months in a row- ie. that I had a period in February but not in March and one in April but not in May.

I had some tests because the doctor suspected PCOS- my blood tests showed a very very slightly elevated level of testosterone but nothing else, everything else normal. And I had a full ultrasound, internal as well, and everything was normal. So the doctor ruled it out, as I don't have other symptoms.

Then for June, July and August my periods came at about 33 days apart so I was happy as I seemed to be getting into a cycle again.

Im now on about day 37 and my period has not arrived. I feel like it should be coming as I have kinda a crampy feeling, very sore boobs and very tired.

I took a test at day 35 and it was negative, to my dismay....

So now Im just doing my head in worrying that maybe there is something wrong with me afterall and my cycle has decided to go haywire again...

I have been stressed a lot over the last month as Im studying and there has been a lot going on with that... so it could be late because of the stress.

But yeah.... do you think there is any chance I am pregnant with these symptoms? Or is a negative pretty much a negative at this late stage?

I am going to wait a week then test again if it doesn't show up...

But yeah I guess just looking for advice if anyone else has experienced this.

I took vitex for a month then my period came right then I stopped taking it, I know you are meant to take it for 2 so could that be why this has happened?

Any thoughts/suggestions welcomed, I am finding this TTC thing very stressful because I get so upset at a negative because I think until Im pregnant Ill always worry something is actually wrong with me.

Thanks in advance....
