I tried it too but found it didn't help. My cousin used it and loved it. It's one of those things that you don't know until you try it so I don't regret hiring it.

I hired it for $50 from a local pharmacy and had to pay a $50 bond which I got back when I dropped it off.    Your local parent centre or midwife should know where they are hired from,.

I found it annoying as well and took it off. Physio TENS can be different to maternal ones, please don't just put any old thing on. We have the PT ones at work and they are not for use with labour. I also wasn't sure whether or not to try a TENS machine, a friend of mine used one but her labour progressed quite quickly so she wasn't sure if it really worked well or not.

I hired one from a pharmacy, and used it through the first part of labour. Personally, I can't remember it making a difference, but DH reckons I was in less pain when I used it. I was in the pool for the next part of labour, so had to take it off. I think I will use it again because it definitely didn't do any harm! (I used only the TENS and a bit of gas during labour)

Some pharmacies hire them. Your midwife should be able to tell you which ones or have a look online.

I wanted to use one but they were all booked up by the time i inquired. So you may need to book early.

i used one during the early stages of labour - it annoyed me more than anything so i took it off. But i know people who have only used that through their whole labour. I was lucky in that my midwife had one i borrowed so it wasnt a big deal that i didnt end up using it. I say anything is worth a try, you might find it great.
