Thanks for the actual name of it Aimee <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif" border="0">  <br /><br />The <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keratosis_pilaris" target="_blank">Wikipedia</a> page on it is actually really useful, as is &#091;http://www.helpforkp.com/&#093;this one&#091;/url&#093;.  It's a genetic thing!  Not sure if diet would make any difference at all based on their description but it makes sense that it's worse in winter when there's lower moisture levels in the air.<br /><br />Would love to know if there's a miracle fix though (although the info I looked up says it can't be cured, boo) - it's really annoying!<br /><br />ETA although it does say some people grow out of it... fingers crossed!<span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by weegee</span>]]>

I was told it was something to do with fat stores in the body but my kids dont eat alot of fatty things. My sister had it as a child and my step mother always told her it was because she didnt wash her arms properly- I dont think this was the case at all but it made my sister wash better lol. ]]>

When I was pregnant I got the Clarins oil (Huile tonic or something) to help prevent stretchmarks. I used it all over and noticed that the bumps on the back of my arms almost completely disappeared. ]]>

Wonder if it's wheat that causes it? DH doesn't have much bread anymore.]]>

I haven't found anything that really gets rid of it.  My GP once suggested lots of exfoliation or even fine sandpaper (not sure if he was actually serious or not).<br />I do find in summer after being out in the sun it gets better though.<br />So no real help, but I can sympathise.  I hate my upper arms - I try not to buy any t-shirts that have really short sleeves to be honest.]]>
