We've just bought carpet from carpet court and they had a room out the back full of leftover bits for fairly cheap. So you could try them? There is a place in New Lyn around the Westfield, I'm thinking its mats Incredible, really cheap off cuts (ours is a Caviler Brenworth) that they cut to size and edge for you. I don't know about auckland but I just went to the local carpet place and brought a huge offcut cheap as chips it doesn't have the edges stitched or whatever the word is lol but we're getting carpet at some point too so its just for playing. spotlight have some nice floor rugs... maybe even get a kids one (we have the road one in our lounge) for the kids room after you have carpeted.

where would be the best (and cheapest) place to get a large carpet square in Auckland?
