My dr advised to put the baby is a steamy room a couple of times a day. So for e.g, put him in the bathroom when you have a shower. And if you have a reasonable small room, put a boiling kettle in it with the lid open (so it doesn't shut off), that puts steam in the room, then sit in there with your child for a while (5-10 minutes).

I agree with the karvol or some Euchalyptus (sp???) on a tissue. you could try some karvol on a tissue somewhere near the cot? (or put it on the sheets, if you're not worried if the karvol might stain!?) We've found a humidifier helps too. Otherwise just some baby vicks on his PJs/feet/chest? The saline nasal sprays can be helpful too (the non-medicated ones).

Hi,

Do you find if your kids have a rotten cold they don't sleep.

DS has always been an awesome sleeper, he started daycare last week and I expected that to disrupt him but he was fine, on friday night he was sick in the night and now has what appears to be a really rotten cold, you can just see it in his eyes oh and the really green snot.

But he cannot seem to sleep for more than an hour, he woke all night, doesn't scream but sort of grizzles for ages, falls asleep, but wakes after no time at all, I left him to it a lot last night as he was not so much unhappy as not sleeping.
