Thanks for all the replys

I got an appointment for her today and it went well, he just put his fingers on her head in different spots and and gently moved the bones about and stuff, and then he did something with her back and hen did her head and neck again etc
She cried the entire time, lol but he said it doesnt hurt them they just hate having their heads mucked about with.

When we got home, she was SOoooo much more settled, and I actually got BIG smiles and lots of cooing I couldnt believe the difference. we go back on Wednesday for a follow up to see if she needs it done again, and he said for me to moniter her behaviour over the next 5 days and her sleeping.

This afternoon I fed her and burped her, and she burped and farted well(HEAPS of farts, so it must have helped her pass wind too) and then she slept for a few hours, then she woke had a feed, burped well again had a bath another feed and now she is back in bed with no fuss! Im soo pleased!

I think she is suffering from reflux and colic, so im stoked that this seems to be working. Yeah we used a craniosacral therapist coz our baby had reflux/colic and was extremely unsettled and after 3 sessions she was a different baby. I had a session done myself and yeah its an amazing experience.

Our Osteo is amazing Sheena! She is close to us (we are in central akl). She is like the baby whisperer....Ashley actually falls asleep during the treatment even if she is due to eat. It is amazing. She hasn't had any wind issues since we went and now rotates her head both ways.

If you would like to see her, you are welcome to spend the day at my place to make the trip worth your while. We can do coffee & lunch while the kids play / watch a DVD.

Do you mean cranial sacral therapy Sheena? Only they don't actually massage or manipulate the baby.

I've had cranial myself as a close friend is a therapist and it is kind of hard to describe what happens. It is a hands-on therapy but really it gives the body space to right itself, if that makes sense. Jack was a ventouse delivery which basically means that as well as all the compression that a baby is subject to during birth he also had the suction effects to his bones and soft tissues, so I didn't think twice about him being seen. He definitely benefited. For example, he started passing his wind a lot easier - he is a great burper but now he is a great farter too and doesn't get that low-down wind trapped so much. He also used to pull away when I rubbed his back and he didn't like sleeping on his back. Now he's fine when I rub his back and he nowseems to prefer to sleep on his back.

A good link for more info is here The site will give you a list of your local practitioners. My friend is in Mt Eden if that's any good, and she specialises in babies. Not sure what she charges but the lady I saw local to me charged $40 an hour.

Sheena, there is a lady in Waiau Pa that does it, I took Ryan there, it was about $50 I think, was cheaper than the Epsom place, local and she was really good, only had to take Ryan once. I don't know a lot about it TBH - I didn't have any involvement with it until I realised that Rowan couldn't turn her head one way and was trying to figure out what the hell to do about it. But I would think that any age would be good. Adults do it.

I think it was $45/ session from memory. Not cheap when you've just had a bubba but at least they said 3 sessions would probably do it - rather than it just going on and on.

I know a few people who have seen this woman for reflux babies and they've all had great sucess so I would def give it a shot.

Isabella had to be born with the help of forceps, and they left big marks on her head for a few days, you can see the marks on some pictures of her on my FB.
So she was quite stuck down there aswell, even though she was a C Section baby.

We did this with Kyle, I don't think he had reflux but he did use to make wet burpy noises and get quite upset at times and have difficulty bringing wind up. We did three sessions and it went (I also took dairy out of my diet at the same time so it may have been that). I thought it would be good as well cos he was vontouse delivery which is a bit rough on him and she could tell when she first saw him that he had been stuck in my pelvis for some time, which he had he was born with a big bruise from being pushed up against my partially dilated cervix (he was no longer bruised when we saw her) and he had been engaged since 32 weeks.

Is that what the Oestopaths do? If so I highly recommend it. Rowan couldn't move her head to one side when she was newborn plus had real wind issues. Im just looking for feedback from anyone who has had this done to their baby.
Isabella is such an unsettled baby and has reflux I also suspect she is suffering from colic at time too.

My mum was just telling me that a lady she knows had kids with reflux and she took them to get a cranial massage and after a few treatments, the reflux was gone.
So mum wants me to look into it for Bella, so Im going to ring around.
