I've heard good things about that paw paw ointment, didn't give it a thought though.

I ended up at the health food shop yesterday and got some Weleda calendula oil and that seems to be helping heaps. And I've dabbed a tiny bit of bepanthen on the worst area under his chin and that has definitely helped.

Locks had really bad eczema for a while, which went, now bad dribble rash. We use Lucas Paw paw as a barrier, but have started to put on some Trilogy Rosehip Oil (lighter than A'Kin) prior as it goes deep into the skin and helps rebuild the structure of the skin. It helps heaps. Try a patch first though, to make sure his skin is ok with it.
And avoid direct sunlight for a while after (not that babies should ever be in direct sunlight), but its a sensitive oil, so works best 'unzapped' by the sun.
Another thing- Amber teething necklace worked wonders for the angry redness too.... I couldnt belive it.
Here is some more info on Rosehip oil:

Link

The one in the upside down tube is best, typical its the more expensive one but its great. It got rid of daniels excema and it smells nice too hehe

It's finally starting to go down but the skin on his face where it's been feels really rough and dry.

Also the skin on his scalp is really dry and flakey. It was just on the top of his scalp, my midwife said it wasn't cradle cap and it didn't look like cradle cap I've seen in pictures, but the plunket nurse said it was. I treated it with almond oil and it went almost straight away. But this dry skin is on the sides of his head, it looks really flakey and the almond oil isn't doing anything. A friend has recommended using Natural Nipple Butter by Earth Mother Angel Baby which I will try to get hold of but I wondered if anyone here had any suggestions?

I don't use any product in his bath water, just a few drops of almond oil and lavender essential oil. I don't use any shampoo either.

TIA
