Crawling, walking? Persevere and the nap may get longer again soon.

But yip, completely normal. While some mums are lucky enough to have 2x 2 hour naps, not all do, and while it would be nice sometimes it is much better to accept what you do have and just get on with it, rather than trying to mould to what a random author says is 'right'.

I guess I have real troubles wih Tizzie Hall, as she is great at saying what your baby 'should' be dong, but rubbis at telling you how to get to her ideal. Not to mention her ideal might be completey wrong for your family. I mean the sleep for 2hours+, how exactly are you supposed to manage that if your baby is wide awake and ready to go after 40 min. What are you suppsed to do for the rest of the 1 hour 20 +?

Sometimes Hayden will wake after his first sleep cycle and act all indignant like its time to get up but I just leave him in his cot and about 70% of the time he will go down for another hour / hour and half, obviously you know when your kidlet reaches the point of no return with the crying and sleep is a lost cause but its worth a try perhaps, even if you leave books in his bed so he can entertain himself for another half hour or so - the rest time is still good for him and you never know he might get bored and go back to sleep!!!

If hes quite wound up through the day I'd say hes not getting enough sleep.
Me personally at that age - I would still be putting him down for 2 naps a day even if he didn't sleep at first. Jake goes through 'nap-issue' stages every so often but at that age I'd just put him down for each nap and let him cry. When he started waking up earlier than I was ready to get up (6am is DEFINITELY earlier than I'm prepared to get up!!) I'd just leave him. I'd put books and a sippy cup of water in his cot when I went to bed so he had something to do but yeah wasn't letting him call the shots lol I like my sleep too much.
Dunno if any of that helps but hope you get it sorted chickie.

He goes to bed at about 6.45pm and has just started waking at 6am.

He's not even one yet! Is this normal? It's a tiring day for me.

Edited by JessDub
