Turns out he'll dream feed on the left (lying on his right). If he's awake he won't put up with it though.
When DH holds him on his side (when trying to calm him) he also only likes being left side down.

Oh and he also went through a stage of preferring one breast to the other due to flow. I started putting him on that breast first at every feed and a week or so he was fine again. Jake was like that until about 4 months, rugby hold one side, cradle hold the other side. It had to do with the shape of my breasts. When he got a bit bigger and more established at feeding he was happy to switch to cradle hold for both sides.

Could be a neck issue also which an osteo could detect.

Ashley is like that with my right side (Elle was too) to some extent. She prefers the football hold on that side too. DS has been getting fussier and fussier on the left breast. I've thought he was complaining as my left has a slower flow than right. Then over the last week he's started to completely refuse the left side. Even before trying to latch.
So then I thought. . . what if I tried feeding him rugby hold on the left? Maybe he doesn't like lying on his right side?
Turns out I was right! Now I feed him across the front on the right, then have to organise rugby hold for the left (which is a bit annoying)

Is this a problem?
I mean I know it's a hassle, but is it a problem I need to do something about - and if so what?
I wondered if it could be an ear infection, but other than feeding time there doesn't seem to be anything wrong.
