I also bought a toaster for work so i could have avo and tom on toast and cheese and tom on toast as a change.........<br /><br />But hey, I hope you do better than others with the good intentions..........I definetly havent used this time for a total pig out but i havent really watched closely either.....plenty of time for that after ive had baby......lol</td></tr></table><br /><br />I used my pg for the exact opposite reason .. I had a huge carb fest!!!!!  (and takeaways, and anything else I felt like), because I always ate really cleanly and low carb because of my sport.<br /><br />(Paying for it now though) <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0"></td></tr></table><br /><br />hehehe I laughed when I read that too as I even bought this book of recipes for when you're pregnant and although I try to eat fruit and veges etc I have to say I've eaten more crap during this pregnancy than I normally would.  I hope you do better than me - and some people definitely do :)  Each trimester I tried to tell myself I'd eat better than the last.  I probably have eaten the best in this trimester so far.<br /><br />I'm so glad I'll have my baby by the time it's xmas ham time.  Yum yum yum!!!  ]]>

I got a quality free range ham from a good butcher.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /><br />Cold meat is about the only thing i try to avoid but must confess that salami has made it through on occasion! ]]>

If you ate ham that happened to be contaminated with listeria it is likely to affect you (although you may not always notice the symptoms) and it can transfer to the baby and cause brain damage, premature labour and even death of the baby.<br /><br />The risk of getting it is pretty low (hence why many people get away with eating *risky* foods), but the consequences of getting it are devastating, and it does affect several babies every year.<br /><br />For me, I just can't place my own *greediness* ahead of my baby's safety. Its only 9 months of being careful what I eat, so its very worth it for me. That said, I have a list of tasty treats for when I've had the baby.]]>

I even am eyeing up the cows out on the farm.......lol..........<br />i have mine now so it only just is cooked with a slight hint of pink, but it doesnt matter with farm kill cos it still tastes devine!!!<br /><br />I have on my list of food to eat right after baby born, chic and avo sushi and a huge ham sandwich........lucky i dont miss out on xmas ham!!!<br /><br />]]>

I made friends with a woman in the NNU (who was also in my antenatal and aquanatal class) whose little boy arrived at 33w because he had contracted listeria in the womb, which then went on to develop into meningitis.  He had a pretty bad prognosis (they didn't expect him to live).  He made a fantastic recovery, but I will always remember what they had to go through.  In saying that - I just used common sense with what food I ate (so no raw meats etc) and will do so next time as well - but what A went through after having her son, I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.]]>

It will have been heat treated also. My DS 5 loves it and requests on his sandwiches every day, just mayo nothing else.......lol]]>
